


Tomer has been with Torstar since September of 1995 when he joined The Toronto Star to assist Torstar's first entry into the Internet with the launch of thestar.com.
In 1999, Tomer negotiated a partnership with The Globe and Mail to create workopolis.com which has become the leading recruitment and help wanted site in Canada. Currently, Tomer is the chairman of workopolis.com's management board and and is also Chairman of the Board of the IAB (Interactive Advertising Bureau).
Tomer was also on Toronto.com's management board from 2000 to 2003 (Chairman from 2002 to 2003). With the creation of Torstar Digital in January of 2005, Tomer has once again assumed responsibility for Toronto.com.
Tomer also led Torstar's efforts in bringing one of the leading online classified services in the world, LiveDeal.com, to Canada. Tomer also serves on the board of LiveDeal.com, representing Torstar's ownership interest in the company.
Tomer has a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Business Administration from York University's Schulich School of Business.
Tomer is married to his high-school sweetheart, Melissa, and has two wonderful children. His interests include reading, particularly science fiction, philosophy and literature, as well as roughing it in the woods so long as there is broadband wireless connectivity not too far from where he is.
