Lara comes to Torstar Digital with a combination of classic packaged goods branding and internet marketing experience. Most recently, she worked with General Mills Canada (2003-2006), managing brands such as Pizza Pops, Oatmeal Crisp and Lucky Charms. Prior to General Mills, she spent 3 years at DoubleClick Canada (1998 - 2001) as Marketing Manager. Lara also has spent time in the not-for-profit world, working in Namibia with WorldTeach, and in Canada with Katimavik. In her spare time she writes the nationally published column "TubeTalk" for Kids Tribute Magazine.
Lara has Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Women's Studies and English from Queen's University, and an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business.
Lara spends a lot of time in the great outdoors with her dog Gatsby and is slowing renovating her old house on the Danforth. She's a big fan of the Toronto Film Festival, is a voracious reader, gardener and pop culture aficionado. Now that her parents have sold the family cottage (she is still in shock) she intends to spend a lot more time traveling.
