Iftakhar joined Torstar Digital at the end of 2007 from NOW Magazine/Communications where he was the Controller for 7 years. He has also worked as Manager, Finance and Administration at the Metro Toronto division of the Red Cross. Iftakhar started his career in the media and entertainment business at CBS records (which later became Sony Music) where he reached the position of Manager, General Accounting. Iftakhar received his accounting designation through CGA Ontario. 

Iftakhar has also volunteered with Frontier College, a volunteer based Canada wide Literacy organization.

Iftakhar is married with two beautiful daughters – his eldest daughter graduated from York University in 2007 at York and is now teaching in Dubai. His number-one interest is his family, other interests include Sci-Fi movies (Blade Runner is his favourite), gardening, entertaining. He harbours a strong desire to own a muscle car from the 70’s.
